HP 3800 Printer Review
The HP 3800 is a color laser printer intended for medium sized offices that need a fast, reliable printer that won’t take up a lot of space. The HP 3800 has a monthly duty cycle of as much as 65,000 sheets, and measures only 15.7 inches wide, 17.7 inches deep, and 15.7 inches tall, making it a good mix of power and reliability, in a compact package.
For connecting to a network or a workgroup, the HP 3800 uses only a high speed USB cable, and a wired Ethernet connection. The USB cable for this printer can be purchased from any computer or office supply retailer. The HP 3800 is compatible with many major operating systems in use today, including Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP, Windows ME, Mac OS 9.2 and Mac OS X 10.2 and higher.
The HP 3800 is capable of printing in both black and white and color printing through the use of four HP toner cartridges. These HP 3800 toner cartridges comes in black, magenta, cyan, and yellow, and are designed to print with high quality throughout the life of the cartridges. The black HP toner cartridge that comes with the HP 3800 is capable of printing as much as 6000 pages before needing to be replaced. The magenta, yellow, and cyan HP 3800 toner cartridges are also capable of printing up to 6000 pages. The HP 3800 has a maximum page capacity of 850 sheets, making it easy to print even large jobs without needing to refill the paper tray as often. The average print speed of the HP 3800 is up to 21 pages per minute, whether you’re printing in black and white or full color.
The HP 3800 prints with a resolution of 600 dpi by 600, and is powered by a 533 MHz processor. The printer comes with 96 MB of memory standard, but that memory can be upgraded to as much as 544 MB for users who need more.
