Okidata C9650 Review
The Okidata C9650 is a powerful, flexible printer intended for a medium to large office that needs a high quality printer that can print with excellent clarity at fast speeds. The monthly duty cycle of the Okidata 9650 is as much as 150,000 pages, making it more than capable of handling the workload of a busy office. The Okidata C9650 measures 23.6 inches wide, 24.6 inches deep, and 18.5 inches high, making it compact enough to be easily incorporated into an office.
This printer connects via a high speed USB cable that can be purchased from any office supply or computer supply retailer. For networking and workgroup purposes, the Okidata C9650 uses an Ethernet connection. The Okidata 9650 is compatible with many major operating systems, including Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000/2003, Mac OS 9.2, and Mac OSX 10.2 and higher.
The Okidata C9650 utilizes four Okidata C9650 toner cartridges, one each in black, yellow, magenta, and cyan. These Okidata C9650 toner cartridges produce high quality images and text, while still maintaining a high page count that makes it easy to print large jobs without needing to refill the toner. The Okidata 9650 ships with four starter toner cartridges that have a page yield of as much as 7,500 pages. Higher capacity C9650 toner cartridges are also available in all four colors. These higher capacity toner cartridges can print as much as 16,500 pages before needing to be replaced. The Okidata C9650 has a standard page capacity of 760 sheets split between two trays (a 530 sheet universal tray, and a 230 sheet multipurpose tray) with the option to add additional paper trays and increase the page capacity of this printer to a maximum of 2,880 sheets. The Okidata C9650 prints at a rate of 40 pages per minute for black and white prints, and 36 pages per minute for full color with a first page out time of only 9 seconds for monochrome and 10.5 seconds for full color.
The Okidata C9650 prints with a resolution of 1200 dpi by 600 dpi and is powered by a 720 MHz processor. The standard memory that ships with the Okidata 9650 is 512 MB, with the option to upgrade to as much as 1.2 GB of memory. Duplexing is available as an option on the Okidata C9650.
