More Information on the Okidata C8800 Laser Printer
The Okidata C8800 printer is a wide-format/tabloid color printer. Its small footprint makes it capable of fitting in most office environments without taking up too much space, but also allows users to create prints as large as 11.6" x 47.24" or as small as a 3"x 5" index card. Speaking of cards, the printer has the ability to printer on card stock up to 110 lb, even in the large format sizes.
The printer is also extremely fast in relation to its competition; it prints at a speedy 26 ppm in color and 32 ppm in monochrome, ensuring less time waiting at the print station. The C8800 needs the obligatory time to warm up, but even so its first page out time is respectable at 9 seconds in monochrome and only a second longer for color. The duty cycle of the C8800 is 75,000 pages per month, making it a formidably opponent among other printers such as the Xerox Phaser 7760.
Okidata claims that the quality of their C8800 is going to be unmatched, based on several new features that the printer boasts. Among these are the printer’s HD Color Printing technology that permits sharp contrasts and more finite detail and fuller color. The printer resolution is a fairly standard 1200 x 600 dpi.
