The Xerox ColorQube 8700 solid ink printer has three different versions, the Xerox ColorQube 8700/S, 8700/X and the 8700/XF. The Xerox ColorQube 8700/S is the most basic version of the printer, which is a multi-function machine which can copy, email, scan and print which comes standard with 625 paper capacity but is expandable to 3,475 sheets. The Xerox ColorQube 8700/X comes featured with the same features as the 8700/S but includes faxing capabilities. The Xerox ColorQube 8700/XF comes with faxing capabilities built in, along with a standard paper capacity of 3,475 sheets, also an output tray which can hold 950 sheets compared to the 8700/S and 8700/X’s 350 sheets. The output tray has offset stacking features and can staple 20 pages at a time. All three of the Xerox ColorQube 8700 solid ink printers print at 44 PPM in both color and monochrome. The recommended average monthly volume of up to 6,000 pages lends this device to work well in some of the bigger workgroups and office environments.
The Xerox ColorQube 8700 uses Xerox’s own solid ink technology. 
These Xerox solid ink sticks are known for their high quality and efficiency. The Xerox ColorQube 8700 requires the use of 4 different colors; cyan, magenta, yellow and black. There are two 8700 ink sticks for each color, and you have the choice of either two or four ink sticks when you purchase black ink. The Cyan, magenta and yellow ink sticks have a 4,200 page yield for the two ink sticks, and the black ink sticks have 4,500 pages for two ink sticks, 9,000 pages for four ink sticks. The Xerox 8700 also has a long list of other supplies in which you can purchase which gives the user the ability to customize the machine to exactly what they need for their use.
